Advertising Disclosure

Last updated: September 3, 2026

Digital Life Compass is free to read, and there is no subscription, paywall, or membership tier. To support the cost of hosting, domain registration, and the tools used to research and produce articles, pages may display advertising served by Google AdSense.

What ads don’t do

Advertisers never influence what I write, which products I recommend, or how I review anything. No advertiser sees an article before it is published, and no advertiser has ever been given the opportunity to request a change to one. I don’t accept payment for coverage, and sponsored content — if it ever appears — will be clearly labeled as sponsored at the top of the article, not buried in a footer.

Advertising is sold programmatically by Google, which means I do not choose the individual advertisers who appear here and I have no business relationship with them. An ad appearing on this site is not an endorsement of that product by me.

Where ads appear

Ads may appear alongside or within articles. They are not placed to be mistaken for editorial content, and I do not use layouts designed to trick you into clicking an ad instead of the thing you meant to click.

Ad cookies

Google and its partners may use cookies to personalize the ads you see, based on your visits to this site and to other sites. The Privacy Policy explains this in detail, including the specific opt-out controls available to you, your rights under GDPR if you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, and your rights under California law.

You can opt out of personalized advertising without losing access to anything on this site. Articles are not gated behind ad consent.

Reporting a problem

If you see an ad here that is deceptive, offensive, or malicious, I want to know about it. Email don@digitallifecompass.com with a description or screenshot and the page it appeared on. I can block individual advertisers and ad categories, and I will.
